GOALS
A Personal Goal for each individual participant will be determined as the greater of either:
a) one half the difference between their current BMI and 24% BMI (half way from where you are now to the top end of healthy BMI)
or
b) 20% of their current weight if over 39% BMI, 15% of their current weight if between 33 - 39% BMI, 10% of their current weight if under 33% BMI.
Example #1:
A 6'2'' participant weighing 373 pounds with a BMI of 48. Their goal would be a BMI of 37. 48-24 + 24 = 37 (287 pounds) 2 A BMI of 37 for this person would be a weight goal of 287 pounds. 20% of original weight is 74.6 pounds. The difference from 373 to 287 is actually 86 pounds. This particular participant would need to lose 86 pounds to receive 100% Individual Prize Fund.
Example #2: A 6'2” participant weighing 272 pounds with a BMI of 35. Their goal would be a BMI of 29.5. 35-24 + 24 = 29.5 BMI (222 pounds) 2 A BMI of 29.5 for this person would be a weight goal of 222 pounds. 15% of original weight is 40.8 pounds. The difference from 272 to 222 is actually 50 pounds. This particular participant would need to lose 50 pounds to receive 100% Individual Prize Fund.
Example #3: A 6'2” participant weighing 241 pounds with a BMI of 31. Their goal would be a BMI of 27.5. 31-24 + 24 = 27.5 BMI (214 pounds) 2 A BMI of 27.5 for this person would be a weight goal of 214 pounds. 10% of original weight is 24.1 pounds. The difference from 241 to 214 is actually 27 pounds. This particular participant would need to lose 27 pounds to receive 100% Individual Prize Fund.
