Official Rules
- All contestants may have a pre-contest photo taken and have both total weight and body fat percentage measured at time of registration by authorized personnel only .
- Each person will participate on a team of two (2) contestants for the duration of the challenge. If you are not already associated with a team of two (2), you will be assigned to a team. Teamwork encourages accountability and commitment.
- Each team of two (2) contestants will need a name and team captain. Please use creativity and discretion when considering your team's name.
- Teams will consist of two (2) individual members (same gender or co-ed) that will combine their total weight at the commencement of the challenge. Weekly weight loss will also be a collective effort resulting in the team's total weight loss percentage.
- Weigh ins are required weekly and to be administered by authorized personnel only. Individual weight will not be announced, only the net weight loss/gain in whole pounds may be displayed until the entire team weigh in is completed. Then the team's combined net weight loss and percentage will be posted on the internet.
- Weigh ins should be conducted in similar attire each time to ensure accuracy.
- In the final 2 weeks there will be a cap on how much weight you can drop in a given week period to prevent usage of large dehydration techniques for the sole purpose of winning.
- Team with the highest percentage of weight loss from their original combined weigh-in after 12 weeks will win 40% of total prize money collected to be split among both team members equally.
- Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female who lose the highest percentage of weight, each being awarded 10% of total prize money.
- Additional prizes may be awarded weekly to the members of the team with the highest percentage weight loss that specific week.
- Grace Community Church of Madison County, and all other sponsors, volunteers, representatives, agencies and employees:
a. Are not responsible for any injury, illness or mental distraught that may arise from participation in the contest.
b. Reserve the right to make rule/contest changes without notice at any time and reserve the right to change the aforementioned contest dates without notice.
- All participants will allow their name and picture/video to be used in promotional announcements, print, and internet based advertising for the sole use to promote Madison 's Biggest Loser for 2009 calendar year.
- Official team weights and percentage losses may appear in local media.
- All weekly results will be found on the " Madison 's Biggest Loser" page, located at on the internet at www.gccofmadison.org .
- Participants may not miss more than two (2) weigh-ins to qualify for grand prize(s).
- Grace Community Church members may enter Challenge and participate, but are entirely ineligible to win any prizes.
